New film: one way to revive local democracy

How do you make local government, and, specifically, reform of local government finance interesting? To be honest, I don’t know.

But saying it to camera might help liven it up a little, I guess. Decide for yourselves:

I especially liked the bit about how you would raise your revenue. Have you told ALDC?

Some technical advice based on my own experience of doing videos - avoid having a natural light source behind you when filming indoors. You end up coming out rather dark. Use the lighting to your advantage.

Secondly, putting the figures in the form of graphics (such as a pie chart) would have got the message over in a more interesting way.

3rdly, perhaps some cut away shots of some of the things the council pays for, such as parks with your doing a voiceover.

4thly, do you need to show so much of your bare chest!!!!?

Otherwise pretty good.

Jonathan - thanks for the tips. You're right, but they take long enough to film as it is...

(As for my clothing - I was just off to the gym, and didn't think to change. Honest.)

Iain - triangulation? Nah, just liberalism. Still, I'm glad you're gettin in touch with that side of yourself.
